DIRECT/INDIRECT SPEECH

  1. Direct : Mary said,” I was sick yesterday “.
    Indirect : Mary said that she had been sick the day before.
    Alasan : Tenses >> Simple past tense ke past perfect tense

  1. Direct : He told me,” I have given the book to your sister “.
    Indirect : He told me that he had given the book to my sister.
    Alasan :Tenses >> Present prefect tense ke past perfect tense.

  1. Direct : Ani said to budi,”You may come to my house tomorrow?”.
    Indirect : Ani said to budi that he might come to her house the following day.
    Alasan : Tenses >> Simple present to simple pas tense

  1. Dierct : He asked me,” What will you be doing at seven tonight?”.
    Indirect : He asked me what I would be doing at seven that night .
    Alesan : Tenses >> Simple future continuous tense to past future tense.

  1. Direct : Dudi said, “I have lost my keys”.
    Indirect : Dudi said that he had lost his keys
    Alasan : Tenses >> Simple present tense to simple past tense.

  1. Direct : She asked me,” Will you come here next weekend?”.
    Indirect : She asked me whether i would come there the following next week.
    Alasan : Tenses >> Present future tense to past future tense.

  1. Direct : Fauza said, “This is my story book”.
    Inderect : Fauza said that this was her story book.
    Alasan : Tenses >> Simple present tense to simple past tense.

  1. Direct : He told her ,” Your brother will return my camera tomorrow”.
    Indirect : He told her that her brother would return his camera the following day.
    Alasan : Tenses >> Simple future tense to past future tense

  1. Direct : He told me,” I have been waiting for you since 3 o'clock”.
    Indirect : He told me that he had been waiting for me since 3 o'clock.
    Alasan : Tenses >> Present perfect continuous to past perfect continuous.

  1. Direct : Dona said, “Afika is tasting apple pie”.
    Indirect : Dorra said afika was tasting apple pie.
    Alasan : Tenses >> Present countinuous tense ke past countinuous tense.

  1. Direct : She asked him,”Were you studying at seven last night?”
    Indirect : She asked him wether he had been studying at seven the previous night.
    Alasan : Tenses >> Past continuous tense to past perfect continuous.


  1. Direct : The police said,” Ardy must not drive without license”.
    Indirect : The police said that Ardy wasn't to drive without license.
    Alasan : Tenses >> Simple present tense to simple past tense


  1. Direct : Mother told john “You must study harder if you want to pass the exam”.
    Indirect : Mother told john that he had must study harder if he wanted to pass the exam.
    Alasan : Tenses >> Past perfect tense to past perfect tense.

14. Direct : Tom said,”I didn't go to school this morning”.
Indirect : Tom said that he hadn't gone to school that morning.
Alesan : Tenses >> Simple past tense to past perfect tense

    Indirect : My sister said to me that she didn't like tennis
